In case you haven’t heard, the Circus McGurkus is in town! The world of Dr. Seuss is alive with The Plaza Arts Center and The Arts Barn’s presentation of Seussical, the musical event of the summer.

Camp Broadway showcases young talent

Sounds of lively music and the clopping of shoes filled The Plaza Art Center June 11-15 as the participants of Camp Broadway learned their lines, dance moves, and songs, preparing for the “big day” – a presentation of the performance to the audience on the last day.

The Plaza presents Seussical the musical

Seussical, the musical event of the summer, opens next Thursday, July 6, at The Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton. The cast and crew for Seussical are participants in The Plaza’s and The Arts Barn’s collaborative effort of a Broadway Intensive.

The Plaza screens ‘Steffen Thomas: Rock & Chisel’

“Art is dynamite.” Those were the first words to flash across the screen last Thursday night at The Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton, to start a one-time presentation of “Rock & Chisel,” a bio-documentary of famed sculptor and painter Steffen Thomas.

Georgia was on everyone’s mind Saturday night in Eatonton, as the Atlanta-based Georgia Players Guild (GPG) presented “Sounds of Georgia,” packed with nearly two hours’ worth of famous songs from the 1950s to the ‘90s by famous Peach State bands and singers.

Spring Celebration party coming to The Plaza

With spring comes warm weather, birds singing, flowers blooming and so much more goodness. The Plaza Arts Center (305 N. Madison Ave., Eatonton) is celebrating the start of spring with a free and open-to-the-public celebration party on April 22, from 10 a.m. until noon on its front lawn.
