Surman: Get involved in the arts

Last week, fine art teachers from the Putnam County Charter School System came to perform and display their art at The Plaza. I stayed that night as the attendant for the theater, but I sure am glad I was working that evening. I left the theater inspired by those teachers.

Surman: The arts bring benefits beyond beauty

With winter often comes the winter blues. As we slowly come out of the cold months, it’s important to remember that preparing for the not-so-winter blues is just as important as keeping your mind active and busy during the actual winter blues. A great way to do this is by delving into the arts.
