The Putnam County Charter School System (PCCSS) Board of Education met Tuesday to recognize its February Students of the Month and approve several resolutions.

Eric Arena is retiring after more than 12 years as the superintendent of the Putnam County Charter School System (PCCSS).Several of Arena’s colleagues and friends surprised him on May 15 with a party at The Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton to recognize his contributions and wish him well in the future.

The Putnam County Board of Education honored Superintendent Eric Arena and bus driver Willie Reid on May 20 for their years of service to the Putnam County Charter School System (PCCSS).Reid received the Bus Driver of the Year award for his 56 years of driving history with PCCSS.

PCCSS music program receives national recognition

For the seventh-consecutive year, the Putnam County Charter School System (PCCSS) has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education.
Student-athletes from each school within the Putnam County Charter School System wore matching color event t-shirts, with the team from Putnam County Elementary decked out in white.

War Eagle Games provide fun and recognition for competitors

Students from all four Putnam County Charter School System schools were at the sports stadium behind the middle school last Friday to participate in the inaugural War Eagle Games, designed specifically for differently abled athletes.
