This spring, the Plaza Alliance for the Performing Arts (PAPA) is producing Neil Simon’s classic comedy “The Odd Couple,” Neil Simon’s classic comedy about the clash of a clean freak versus a slob.

War Eagle Games provide fun and recognition for competitors

Students from all four Putnam County Charter School System schools were at the sports stadium behind the middle school last Friday to participate in the inaugural War Eagle Games, designed specifically for differently abled athletes.

GWM hosts PCHS Live and Drive Book Fair

As part of their curriculum for Project Success, a school-year-long service leadership class for seniors taught by Rebekah Esau at Putnam County High School, students conceived of, organized and presented the Live and Drive Book Fair Mar. 10, at Georgia Writers Museum (GWM) in downtown Eatonton.

Short-term rental issue draws crowd

Last week’s first of two special hearings on short-term rentals (STRs) at Putnam County’s two large lakes saw nearly 40 people take three-minute turns at the microphone giving an earful to the Putnam County Board of Commissioners. Some voiced specific complaints.

Short-term rental hearings on the way

The first of two special public hearings on probable controls for short-term rentals will come this evening, March 23, at the Putnam County administration building. The hearing led by the Putnam County Board of Commissioners begins at 6 p.m. A second hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m.

Eatonton City Council addresses housing developments

Two separate housing possibilities provided the focus for Monday evening’s Eatonton City Council mid-month meeting. The first came in a rezoning of 26-plus acres on Monticello Road (Ga. 16) across the road from Ingle’s grocery store.

Greene law restricts short-term rentals

Blooming buds, thin layers of green pollen and daylight savings time can mean only one thing. Spring is here and, for many Greene County residents, so are hefty profits from renting out their homes during The Masters Golf Tournament.
