Daniel finds new college home at Cumberland

After de-committing from Army, Putnam County’s Rashod Daniel has found his new college home.The senior War Eagles’ running back and linebacker recently announced he has committed to play at Cumberland University, a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics program in Lebanon, Tenn.

Putnam powers past Jasper with TD in final seconds

Putnam County has relied on running back Rashod Daniel all season and did so again this past Friday.Facing a 4th-and-2 situation late in the fourth quarter against rival Jasper County, Daniel picked up a pivotal first down and then some.

Trojans top Putnam as regular season nears end

A solid second-quarter effort by Lamar County helped it defeat Putnam County 24-3 this past week.The War Eagles (4-5, 2-2 Class A Division I - Region 4) held a 3-0 advantage heading into the second period before the Trojans (7-1, 4-0) scored 17 unanswered points, a lead they never gave up.

War Eagles tame Titans on Senior Night

Putnam County tailback Rashod Daniel knew what was on the line against Towers on Senior Night last Friday.Daniel helped the War Eagles win 48-14 over the Titans, keeping his team’s region title hopes alive.“My senior night was amazing, to say the least,” said Daniel.

Putnam County football's Rashod Daniel finds college home

Putnam County football senior Rashod Daniel has already determined where he will play college football. Daniel recently announced he will continue his career on the gridiron at the United States Military Academy (USMC) in West Point, N.Y., after graduating next year.

Daniel invited to high-profile football camps

Putnam County running back and linebacker Rashod Daniel has received high praise for his skills on the gridiron.Daniel was invited to the Under Armour Atlanta football camp in February and competed against some of the best prospects in the nation. Daniel will also attend a Rivals.

College football coaches visit Putnam County

Several college football coaches recently stopped by Putnam County High School to check on its players. Coaches from in-state institutions Kennesaw State, Georgia Tech, Georgia State, and Albany State, as well as Liberty University in Virginia, made trips to Eatonton last week.

Several War Eagles earn All-Region football honors

The Putnam County football team recently had several players earn All-Region 4-AA honors. The War Eagles had 13 players earn All-Region honors, with five receiving honorable mentions. Putnam County head coach Joel Harvin said he was proud of each player who earned the recognition.
