GMC partners with first responders for emergency preparedness exercise

Georgia Military College (GMC) and GMC Preparatory School, in collaboration with Milledgeville and Baldwin County first responders, conducted the first large-scale Emergency Preparedness Exercise on Nov. 1 on GMC’s Main Campus in Milledgeville.

Putnam’s Bland balling for the Bulldogs

After putting up numbers on both sides of the ball during his senior year of high school, former Putnam County athlete DJ Bland is ready to utilize his skills at the next level.

Peters primed for freshman season at GMC

Earlier this year, Putnam County’s Tamarion Peters signed to play football at Georgia Military College. The former War Eagles’ running back is now enrolled at GMC in Milledgeville. Peters is also preparing for his upcoming freshman campaign as the Bulldogs recently started fall camp.

Soccer players commit to GMC JC

Georgia Military College (GMC) recently announced that four GMC Preparatory School soccer team members – Colby Avery, Levi Ward, Emma Evans and Ryley Taylor – have committed to continuing their athletic and academic careers at GMC at the junior college level.

GMC golfer qualifies for national championship

Georgia Military College (GMC) Junior College Women’s Golf is making its presence known in just the fourth full year of the program. Sadie Norman is officially the sixth Bulldog to qualify for the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I National Championship.

GMC plans ‘Picking Up Putnam’ project in April

Come April 15, a small army of 190 or so cadets from Georgia Military College will descend upon Putnam County to visit up to 10 of Putnam’s public or non-profit facilities. They will descend, however, from buses, not tanks, and they will be carrying not rifles, but shovels, mops and brooms.

GMC football coach to be inducted into Georgia Sports Hall of Fame

The Georgia Sports Hall of Fame announced its 2023 inductees in January and among the honorees is the late Bert Williams, former GMC athletic director and head coach of the Junior College football team. Williams retired in 2020 after a 23-year career at GMC.
