Lady War Eagles’ soccer racks up All-Region awards

Several players on the Putnam County girls’ soccer team achieved a significant milestone this year, earning prestigious All-Region 4-AA honors.The Lady War Eagles had five players—Gracie Bird, Lily Frisch, Allison Stone, Elizabeth Haley, and Regina Espin—earn first-team team honors.

Putnam girls soccer captures region title, rides winning streak

War Eagles’ track-and-field takes new approach

So far this season, Putnam County’s track-and-field teams have excelled by taking a new approach. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams are competing hard for first-year coach Gary Waller, who is trying to train athletes to “get better” each week.

Lady War Eagles soccer finding its footing

After a rough 0-3 start to the season, the Putnam County girls’ soccer team has been on a roll as of late.

War Eagle wrestlers have busy start to season

The Putnam County High School wrestling team traveled to Monticello on Nov. 17 where it dominated Jasper County (52-18) and Piedmont Academy (30-26). Senior wrestler Mark Winslette captured his 100th win in Monticello by pinning a Jasper County opponent.

Putnam County softball prepares for new season

The girls of the Putnam County High School softball team endured a couple of tough outings in preseason scrimmage action, but their coach remained upbeat about the upcoming schedule. Putnam County went to bat for the first time this season on July 10, in a scrimmage at Warner Robins High School.
