Each spring, a nationwide high school arts competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Locally, the Artistic Discovery Contest is open to all high school students in Georgia Congressional District 10, represented by Mike Collins.

In front of audiences of teachers and students, and later parents, Gatewood Schools first and second-graders performed “Stone Soup” on Feb. 3, a play that teaches the value of sharing. In the story, hungry strangers come to a town where residents claim they have no food to share.

100 Days celebration at Gatewood Schools

Classes pre-K through the fifth grade took part in the festivities on Feb. 1, as Gatewood Schools in Eatonton celebrated the 100th day of its 2022-23 school year. The event gave students, teachers and parents a chance to showcase their creativity, as well as have a little fun.
