The new design map for the area of Hwy 44 around the bridge to Greene County now shows how rip-rap will be used at the base of the bridge. The bridge will be expanded to 4 lanes by widening the bridge using staged construction. GEORGIA DOT
The Georgia Department of Transportation has posted on its website revised maps for two sections of the controversial widening of Georgia Highway 44, including the Putnam County stretch from Harmony Road to the Lake Oconee bridge. But don’t expect any big surprises.
