Summer flies by for school children. Already they are preparing for another school year. All the new clothes, supplies and much needed items to stay in with or ahead of the other students. It’s sad that almost military practices and procedures are needed to help ensure school safety from crazy gun nuts. No, I am for the right to bear arms, but what we have now needs some tweaking to provide protection. Too much school violence exists. Schools should be a place of learning where parents feel good that their children are safe in a safe environment. It has not always been this way. We need to find a way to get back to safe schools and safe public places. George says it all started in the summer of 1968.
