A Canton woman was hospitalized for injuries sustained in a vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. 441 and Twin Bridges Road on Dec. 12.
Sara Walsh, 22, of Canton, was traveling south on Hwy. 441 around 11:50 a.m. when her 2012 Toyota Camry crashed into a 2020 Lincoln Nautilus. Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills said the Nautilus was being driven by Jamie Jones, 49, of Milledgeville. Jones, an employee of Butler Ford dealership and repair, was test-driving the Nautilus.
While traveling northbound on U.S. 441, Jones made a U-turn at the intersection and failed to yield the right of way, according to Sills. Walsh reportedly swerved to avoid striking the Lincoln, which caused her Toyota to turn around and run off the road.
“After striking the Nautilus, her car overturned at least twice,” Sills said, and noted the Camry landed on its roof.
Walsh was taken to Atrium Health Navicent Medical Center in Macon for treatment; Jones was not injured.
