The Eatonton-Putnam Public Library played host to a seizure awareness and first-aid training session on Feb. 18, led by Dr. Rakale Quarells, a professor and director of the Epilepsy Advisory Board at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta.

Multi-county pursuit ends with arrest in Eatonton

A Greensboro woman was arrested on a laundry list of charges in Eatonton on March 12, following a police chase involving several law enforcement agencies at speeds approaching 100 mph.

Broken gas line forces neighborhood evacuation

A gas main break Saturday on Imperial Mill Road had employees of several City of Eatonton departments scrambling to ensure the safety of everyone as they closed the road, issued evacuations, and worked to stop the gas leak.

An Athens woman who apparently was passing through Eatonton ended up spending a little time in the Putnam County jail on drug charges, according to jail reports. Eatonton Police Department officer Alex Rickey stopped a car on the U.S. 441 Eatonton Bypass shortly before 5 p.m.

Authorities are evacuating residents in Eatonton due to a gas main line break on Imperial Mill Road. Eatonton Fire Chief Eugene Hubert said a contractor who was doing work hit the line and caused the leak.
