After winning the Eatonton Ward 3 election last November, and now with several meetings under his belt in the new year, rookie Eatonton City Council member Rev. Fred Lowe said the job has so far matched expectations.

Students who skip school could face new punishments

Students with too many unexcused absences would be barred from playing sports and could lose their driver’s license under legislation approved by the state Senate Thursday.“These are privileges,” said Sen. Jason Dickerson, R-Canton.
