Grady Carswell

Grady Carswell, 74, of Trenton, GA, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2026, at his home with his loving family by his side. Mr. Carswell was born on February 17, 1952, in Commerce, GA, to the late Nelson and Nancy Gazaway Carswell. He was a 1970 graduate of Putnam County High School.

Following high school, Grady began a long and dedicated career with Georgia Power, retiring after 34 years of service.

He made his home on Sand Mountain for 31 years, a place that became very special to him and his family.

Even after retirement, Grady remained active and hardworking, working with National Boiler and Doug Yates Towing & Recovery.

A devoted Christian, Grady was a faithful member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, where he shared a special bond with his church family. Known for his quick wit and unwavering devotion to his family, Grady possessed a quiet strength and a genuine gift for listening to others and offering encouragement when it was needed most. One of his favorite places to spend time was North Carolina, where he treasured visits with his aunts, uncles, and cousins and the time they shared together.

His steady presence, caring heart, and love for those around him will be deeply missed by his family, church family, and all who were blessed to know him. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 49 years, Betty Sue Carswell; son, Wade Carswell; brothers, Bradley (Debbie) Carswell and Tim (Karen) Carswell; sisterin- law, Joan Ingram; many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. In addition to his parents, Grady was preceded in death by his nephew, Blake Carswell. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the life of Grady Carswell on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Trenton, GA.

Bro. Chris Ware will officiate the service as those who knew and loved Grady come together to remember a life marked by faith, family, friendship, and quiet kindness.
