A Monroe man died while fishing with family and friends on Lake Sinclair yesterday, according to authorities.
Bobby McIntyre, 62, of Monroe, died when he apparently suffered a health episode, possibly a heart attack, that caused him fall down in the water near the shoreline in the Crooked Creek area, according to Putnam County Coroner Hollis Harrison.
The victim was fishing with his brother and two friends along the bank of the lake Tuesday evening. The others were ready to quit and walked up to their pickup truck while McIntyre stayed behind, they said. When McIntyre didn't come join them, they went searching and found him in the water near the bank, Harrison said. His buddies pulled him from the water and called 911 around 8:30 p.m. EMTs with Putnam County Emergency Medical Services arrived and began CPR, but the victim did not survive, Harrison said.
