XC: Patrick leads Putnam Cross Country results

  • Putnam County’s Emma Patrick placed fi rst overall in the middle school Girls’ 3K run Sept. 21, at the 2022 Redskin Invitational hosted by Social Circle High School. At 13 minutes, 16 seconds, Patrick fi nished more than 41 seconds ahead of second-place McKenna Thacker, with Zoe McLeroy third. Raegan Ogden was Putnam’s next runner at 18th of 50 in the race, with Leland Fordham, Lily Armistead, and Morgan Harris also fi nishing to help PCMS to a 4th place team result.   • In the largest field at the Redskin Invitational, Putnam High’s Cristian Hernandez (right) fi nished 18th of 78 entries in the varsity Boys’ 5K with a time of 20 minutes, 4 seconds. Michael Lynch of Mount Pisgah Christian ran 17:06 to take the win. PCHS had fi ve other runners entered: Sammy Ford, Aidan Chaffi n, Jacob Barbee, Luke Armistead and Mark Winslette, with each finishing deep in the field.

  • Emily Hardie, a freshman at Putnam County High School, had a 10th-place result in the JV Girls’ 5K at this year’s Redskin Invitational, while her two teammates at the event, Jordan Bird and Ila Nelson, were not far behind at 13th and 15th, respectively.
