After a long battle with Frontal Temporal Dementia, Bobby Goodwin passed away on April 30, 2025.
He was a wonderful husband, father, son, and friend.
He was happiest when his family and friends surrounded him, whether it was cheering on his favorite team, grilling, or playing volleyball in the pool. He was also an enthusiastic Harley-Davidson rider and collector of Harley T-shirts. He loved traveling all across the United States with his riding buddies, and when at home, he enjoyed going to the movies.
After proudly serving in the Army, Bobby started his career with American Tobacco Company in N.C., and eventually ended up in Macon, Georgia, when they were bought out by Brown & Williamson. He later retired from B&W as a high-speed machinery mechanic, and balanced taking care of his Mom and enjoying retirement.
He was an active member of Northridge Christian Church before his illness, and loved serving in some capacity every Sunday. He dearly loved the Lord, and his faith carried him through some hard losses.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Goodwin Sr. and Nancy Brown Goodwin. He is survived by his loving wife Gena, son Jason (Brandi Goodwin), daughter Jessica (Will) Colclough, six grandchildren, brother Billy (Anna) Goodwin, and nephews Chris (Holly) Goodwin, and Andrew (Bobbie) Goodwin.
A private graveside service was held May 5, 2025, at Eatonton Memorial Gardens with military honors. A celebration of life is planned for later this year.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to theaftd.org (The Association of Frontal Temporal Dementia) for further research for a cure.
