XC: Pennington and Patrick finish first for Putnam

The Putnam County girls’ cross-country running team has been racing to success this season. At almost every meet so far, Putnam runners have placed in the top 20 or even higher. Alyssa Pennington, a Putnam High freshman, brings speed and power to the team, finishing first overall Sept.

Warriors blank War Eagles in physical battle

Oconee County left Al Reaves Field in Eatonton last Friday with a 20-0 victory over Putnam County. The War Eagles played a very physical game, but were overpowered by the Warriors, who are the No. 7-ranked team in Class AAA, per the Maxwell Ratings.
