Gators fall to Tatnall, sweep CFCA

Gatewood sandwiched a loss at home to Tattnall Square Academy (TSA) between a pair of wins last week over region foe Central Fellowship Christian Academy (CFCA).Gatewood finished the week with a 10-5 overall record and 4-0 mark in region play. The second game against CFCA was exciting.

Mistakes cost Putnam against Redskins

Last week, Social Circle showed why it’s one of the top teams in Class A Division I by sweeping Putnam County. The No. 4 Redskins easily took the three-game series against the War Eagles, winning 9-1, 14-4, and 13-5.

Putnam T&F off to running start

The Putnam County High School track and field team is off to a great start to the 2025 season. The team has already competed in five meets and achieved impressive results under the guidance of new head coach Kedric Manning and assistant coach Cerria Porter.

Gators, Lady Gators finish second at home meet

Gatewood hosted its third track and field meet of the season last week, with the Gators and Lady Gators finishing second to Brentwood Academy.The War Eagles won the boys’ meet with 179 points, while the Lady War Eagles placed first in the girls’ meet with 150 points.

Blake Daniel has been an integral member of the Gatewood shotgun team for seven years, and officially signed an athletic scholarship on March 4 with Emmanuel University, a private Christian school in Franklin Springs.

War Eagles moving in right direction

The Putnam County baseball team has been on a tear recently, winning three straight entering this week.The War Eagles began the season with a 2-2 record before losing six games in a row. However, they quickly turned things around last week by starting region play on a strong note by sweeping Towers.

Gatewood beats Trinity twice, falls to Piedmont

Gatewood went 2-1 last week, with a loss at home to Piedmont Academy sandwiched between two wins over Trinity Christian.The Gators began the week with a 9-6 home win over Trinity Christian on March 11. They got 12 hits off the Crusaders’ pitching staff, while theirs only allowed four.
