Gatewood beats Trinity twice, falls to Piedmont

Gatewood went 2-1 last week, with a loss at home to Piedmont Academy sandwiched between two wins over Trinity Christian.The Gators began the week with a 9-6 home win over Trinity Christian on March 11. They got 12 hits off the Crusaders’ pitching staff, while theirs only allowed four.

Three up, three down for Gators

Gatewood baseball went undefeated last week, beginning with a decisive 12-3 road win at Westfield. Last Thursday, the Gators followed with an impressive 3-1 win at home in Eatonton over top-ranked First Presbyterian Day. The Gators finished their week by taking down Monroe Area 12-1 in Monroe.

Mixed results for Gatewood baseball

Gatewood’s trip last week to the annual Perfect Game High School Showdown in Hoover, Ala., did not go as hoped for, with the Gators finishing with a 1-3 record for the tourney.The Gators were shut out 14-0 on Feb. 27 against Hartselle (Ala.) but bounced back with a 5-3 win over Sparkman (Ala.

Gatewood baseball aims to ‘three-peat’

Heading into the 2025 season, the Gatewood Gators are coming off consecutive state championships, and their focus has turned to securing a third-straight state title under head coach Brandon Moss.
