Suspect indicted for Putnam man’s murder

A Baldwin County grand jury handed down a true bill of indictment July 10 on a man accused of killing a Putnam County resident.

Bond denied to man accused of fatal shooting

The man accused of murdering another customer at the Shell gas station in Eatonton has been indicted and denied bond, according to court records. Lajuan Peire Evans, 24, of Covington, turned himself in to authorities and was arrested on June 5, for the fatal shooting of Frederick Scott Jr.

Eatonton pedestrian struck, killed in Milledgeville

An Eatonton man who worked in Milledgeville was killed after he was hit by a vehicle while crossing the road in Milledgeville, according to authorities. Gerald Allen Burge, 55, of Eatonton, died from his injuries at the hospital, said Sgt. Thomas Smith of Milledgeville Police Department.
