Mardi Gras masquerade ball coming to MMCC

The Madison-Morgan Cultural Center (MMCC, 434 S. Main St., Madison) will be holding a Mardi Gras-style masquerade ball on Feb. 10, 2024. Guests are invited to arrive “dressed to the nines” for a ballgown and black-tie affair.

‘12 Angry Jurors’ takes on difficult deliberations

The Plaza Alliance for the Performing Arts (PAPA) completed its six-show run of “Twelve Angry Jurors” Sunday night at The Plaza Arts Center, with each performance bringing its own energy and feedback from the audience to its cast of 15 actors.

UGA Youth LEAD Georgia inaugural class announced

Thirty 10th- and 11th-graders from across Georgia – including Carolyn Thomas of Eatonton and Mary Hollis Pugmire from Madison – have been selected to participate in the inaugural statewide Youth LEAD Georgia program run by the University of Georgia.

Eatonton scarecrow winners crowned

A month of voting online and at Eatonton City Hall has determined the winners of the 2023 Eatonton Main Street Scarecrow Contest & Showcase. In the Business category, first place went to the Eatonton- Putnam Water & Sewer Authority, second was Pirtek Macon, and Legacy Homes Corp. placed third.
