Students benefit from Butterflies & Blooms visit

Students from Putnam County Middle School’s unique Adapted Purposeful Personalized Learning Experiences (APPLE) class visited the Butterflies and Blooms habitat on March 31 in support of student-teacher Taylor Casey’s graduation requirements from Georgia College and State University (GCSU).

Spring Celebration party coming to The Plaza

With spring comes warm weather, birds singing, flowers blooming and so much more goodness. The Plaza Arts Center (305 N. Madison Ave., Eatonton) is celebrating the start of spring with a free and open-to-the-public celebration party on April 22, from 10 a.m. until noon on its front lawn.

An article published by The Eatonton Messenger in 1895 described the city’s Episcopalians' first meeting with the Bishop of Georgia. Over the next three years, the paper covered a growing number of Episcopalians meeting in each other’s homes for worship services.

Last week, fine art teachers from the Putnam County Charter School System came to perform and display their art at The Plaza. I stayed that night as the attendant for the theater, but I sure am glad I was working that evening. I left the theater inspired by those teachers.
