EPD investigates burglary

Eatonton Police Department officers and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime scene specialists spent their day before Thanksgiving investigating the burglary of a local business.

Eatonton Police Chief Howell Cardwell said the Grease Monkey oil change and auto repair on Walmart Drive was burglarized around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26.

“They got in through the back door, and money and tools were taken,” Cardwell said, and noted the electricity was disconnected.

He added that approximately $200 in cash was stolen, along with some assorted tools. No arrests had been made as of the newspaper’s press time Tuesday evening.
