Eatonton and Putnam County ‘showing off’

Dear editor: Another week has passed and I am still being nosy. Oops, sorry, I forgot, I have graduated – I am concerned. I celebrated my 82nd birthday on Sunday, August 14. My birthday is really on the 15th, but I had something in mind.

Jimmy Davis Park concerns continue

Dear editor: It is a sad day when a public park named for one of Putnam’s first Black county commissioners sits unwanted in the heart of an historic Black neighborhood.

Taxing issues

Dear editor: Revenue to Putnam County has grown by about 28 percent since 2020. In addition, the county has benefited from a multimillion-dollar windfall from the American Rescue Plan (ARP).

It’s all about the arts

Dear editor: I commend The Eatonton Messenger for publishing articles on the arts like Maureen Brower’s “The benefits of performing arts programs in our schools,” and Charlotte Mosteller’s “How singing can be beneficial and help you prosper with a group.
