Honoring a beloved wife and mother

It is the gift that will keep on giving. And it could not be more rewarding. This past month, my family and I established the Jane J. Yarbrough Endowed Nursing Scholarship in the WellStar School of Nursing at Kennesaw State University.

ConGRADuation Day

Graduation Days are among those most memorable milestones and touchstones of life. They are often seen more as an end to one phase, while I have always chosen to view the ceremony as well as the Pomp & Circumstance noting entrance into life's next phase.

Henry-Garrett responds to letter

Dear editor: Mr Lee’s deliberately inflammatory rhetoric does Eatonton no favors but makes its residents look like they are happy to live back in the 50’s. Are you all cringing fearfully in the face of “selfishly ambitious Blacks”? Is it only permissible for Whites to be “selfishly ambitious”?

Overview of upcoming primary elections

Bewildering. Almost overwhelming. But it is also important – this increasingly long and sometimes irritating business of deciding who can best govern us for the next few years.

Beautiful week in Eatonton

Dear editor: I am so excited. I remember not to be nosy but concerned instead. This has been a beautiful week and our beautiful little town has been so full of activities. My week began with visitors to the Uncle Remus Museum on Monday from Athens and Alabama.
