War Eagles rely on seniors to win first-round thriller

No. 8-ranked Putnam County boys’ soccer hadn’t been challenged much this season until Friday night at home on Al Reaves Field when it faced Toombs County in the first round of Class AA state playoffs.

Gators wrap up T&F regular season

Last Wednesday, Gatewood’s track & field teams finished off their regular season at home, where they hosted Briarwood, Windsor, Westfield, Brentwood and Twiggs.
The Gators’ boys won the meet with a score of 164 while the Gators’ girls team placed third with a score of 117 total points.

Trojans trounce Bucs in 10-0 home win

John Milledge Academy resumed play after spring break with its only game of the week Apr. 10, and scored a non-conference 10-0 win at home over Briarwood Academy.
Cooper Wilburn started on the mound for the Trojans and threw a three-up, three-down first inning before the Trojans grabbed their bats.

This past weekend I was asked through the Outdoor Legacy Foundation (OLF) to take a special-needs young man fishing. His name was Lancelot.
Lance is what he told me to call him. Lance is a fine young man who is eaten up with dairy cows, peacocks, and animals in general.

War Eagles gear up for final stretch

The Putnam County baseball team enjoyed some relaxation last week during spring break. Now, the War Eagles are set to begin the final stretch of the season before the start of Class AA playoffs.
